My personal background, career in education and my thirteen years as Councilwoman reflect my commitment to this community as well as the ideals of the Democrat Party. I particularly enjoy the fact that as an At-Large Councilwoman I am free to tackle challenges throughout the Township. My projects have centered on promoting transparency in government, civic participation, quality of life issues, fiscal responsibility as well as preserving the rich historical legacy of this Township.
Forty-two years ago, I moved from Linden to Colonia with my husband, Miguel. Currently, my husband and I are the parents of sons Darren, Scott and his wife Gabriela and the proud grandparents of Nicolas Miguel Velasco.

Of my many accomplishments, I currently am concentrating on the Township Oral History Project.
